Phaa Bai [striped, blue/white or rainbow tarp-like material] is a common character in Bangkok’s cityscape, one of its many uses being the produc­tion of cheap, lightweight bags often utilized by locals to transport this and that to here or there, and by tourists to pack and carry home souvenirs. Whether it is a local bringing small goods to the market to sell or a tourist carrying those same goods home, the contents of the bags remains more or less the same. 

This/That_Here/There_Souvenir calls into question how what we bring and carry with us into a situation can influence what one can/can­not take away from a space as memento, inspiration, or experience.

Visitors are invited to take a ‘souvenir’ from the installation.
