ELECTRIX

ELECTRIX, screenprint and pochoir, series of 40, 2016

ELECTRIX is a series of portraits of the utility boxes that stand along the streets of Bangkok. Collected firstly in photograph, their images are then replicated through media/techniques that the boxes themselves are colored with [stencils and spray paint] in an attempt to capture their likeness in not only image but also character.

ELECTRIX_ prints are created by layering spray paint via hand-cut stencils, and a screen print together. Each image requires 10 – 15 layers, the complexity of which allows for unique idiosyncrasies to find their way into every portrait.
